Due West Elementary Chorus Page

Concert

Our concert will take place Thursday evening at 6:00 in the Due West Gym. The Chorus Performance Dress Code is: Clean Shoes, Black pants (or Black skirts) and the Chorus Shirt. For this event, simply arrive to the gym between 5:45 and 5:55. I will meet the chorus members outside the gym and take the chorus into the main building for a few minutes to warm up just before the performance.

Performance:   Spring Concert. Thursday, 3/24, 6:00 PM at Due West Elementary

General Chorus Information:

The chorus is a vocal performance ensemble for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students. That's a fancy way to say that it is a singing group that puts on concerts. The chorus performs in our community and in our school. We rehearse weekly on Wednesdays from 2:30 - 3:20.

Chorus Performance Dress Code: Clean Shoes, Black Slacks (or Black skirts) and the Chorus Shirt.

Chorus Funds

A $50 donation is requested from each chorus member. These donations cover the following costs:
  • Purchasing new music
  • Paying accompanists
  • Purchasing t-shirts
  • Supporting music related purchases
Checks may be written to Due West Elementary School. Payments must be in envelopes labeled with the student's name, payment amount and "Chorus" and placed into any of the school's "black boxes" by the student or parent. Teachers are not allowed to handle funds.

Rehearsal Schedule 2022

All rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 2:30 - 3:20. Students who miss 3 or more rehearsals will likely be unprepared for performance and will thus likely be asked not to perform.
January:  12th, 19th, 26th
February: 2nd, 9th, 16th  (No Rehearsal 2/23)
March: 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd (celebration on 3/30)
Performance:   Spring Concert. Thursday, 3/24, 6:00 PM at Due West Elementary

End of chorus celebration: Wednesday, March 30. 2:30 - 3:20. Details TBA

Dismissal

Students will need to be picked up via carline at the front of the school at 3:20. Parents can also park off site and walk up to get their children at 3:20. That is probably the fastest option, as the car line for Wednesday clubs can get long. Students who have not been picked up by 3:30 will go to ASP. Parents will be responsible for paying ASP anytime their child uses this service.
