5th Grade Talent Show
The 5th Grade Talent Show is an opportunity to showcase the many talents that our students have been developing. While many students have multiple talents, time constraints will only allow for them to demonstrate 1 of their talents in the 5th Grade Talent Show. This Talent Show is an evening of entertainment; not a competition.
Sign up to be a part of the show!
(Performance Applications will be accepted through 4/24 & applications to help will be accepted through 5/5)
If you have been developing a talent and you would like to perform in the show, use the Performer Application button to sign up!
Performers, please also complete this "Performer Bio" form before May 5. The information you provide will help the Master of Ceremonies (M.C.) to introduce and talk about the acts in the Talent Show.

Important Tasks for Parents
Programs
I need someone to make and copy a program. I will provide the order in which the performers will go on stage as well as other pertinent details. The formatting details, graphics etc. will be up to you. 150 copies should be sufficient. We can make it available for download in case we run out.
Videographer
I need someone to record all of the acts.
Music
There is an annual scramble on the eve of the show to get the background music ready. Let this be the year that we have it all done in advance! Performers are responsible for acquiring their own background music and getting it to me, Mr. Duff. I will try almost any format you send, and I can say that .wav and .mp3 will definitely work. I will not accept youtube links. It is likely that you will need to purchase the backing track that you intend to use and then burn it onto an audio CD or convert it to .wav or .mp3.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Will you come get us out of ASP?
A: On the day of your audition, I will have ASP send you down to the music room. Please just let me know if you have ASP, so that I know where to find you.
Q: Can we dance and sing?
A: Unfortunately, I do not have wireless headset microphones. You may dance and sing, but your singing will not be heard unless you are holding a microphone.
Q: What time will the auditions take place?
A: An audition schedule will be created once all applications have been received. Each participant's parents will receive an email with their child's audition time.
Q: How do we submit our video audition?
A: I cannot accept large videos using my cobbk12 email address. The best way to send your video is to save it to an online drive (the cloud) and send me a link to it. Here is an article about several ways to do that.
Q: Do students go home and return to school for their auditions?
A: This is up to the parents. Students who normally go to ASP can go to ASP and then come to their auditions 5 minutes before their assigned audition times. Students who normally take the bus or car-line will have to make a decision with their parents about whether or not they should report directly to the music room at dismissal or return later for their auditions.
